The contents of the now defunct journal Troubadour, Le Poete Lyrique is now fully indexed at getCITED.org and The Worcester Review is on track to be the next.

As you may know, The Worcester Review has been publishing poetry since 1973. It has published poetry by some 20 Pushcart Prize winners, and other well known writers including Fr. Daniel Berrigan, Stanley Kunitz, May Swenson, ... and many others.

Chapbooks and many small press journals are partially indexed at getCITED. This a one of the few free research tools available to literary researchers and writers on the web looking for hard to find information on a very poorly funded art form!

Sunday December 16
Join the Asylum this week with the next Open Qualifying Slam for the 2008 Worcester Slam Season. This will be the last qualifier before the Winter Semi-final slam next Sunday.
Slam poetry has been compared to verbal jousting or grammatic boxing and can be moving, funny and deadly serious, sometimes all in the same poem. Up to 8 poets come up and perform their original work, three minutes or less please, for the audience. Five people randomly chosen from the audience before the bout will give each poem a score. We drop a couple of scores, do some math and at the end of two rounds declare a victor. The top two finishers in tonight's slam move on to the Winter semi-final next week.

The open mic sign-up list goes out around 7:00 p.m. and the reading starts closer to 7:30 p.m. The slam follows the open mic. No cover; please throw some money in the bucket to support the feature.

bringing the best in Performance and Slam poetry
to Central Massachusetts and beyond.

THE ECLECTIC WORD,
Radio Show
Poet and journalist
Victor D. Infante hosts The Eclectic Word, an Internet radio show that will delve into literature's fringe with poets, satirists, alternative journalists and even (gasp!) bloggers. We'll be stepping off the beaten path of literature, taking a close look at the odd, the eccentric and the cutting-edge. Should be fun.

The show will run at 7 p.m. EST the first and third Friday of every month, as part of
The World Wide Word Radio Network. You can listen to the shows live, or you can download it later for your listening convenience. So give it a listen! It's going to be a blast!
